Our Story
Ganjineh Qanat Ardakan tourism complex including the qanat route located in Ardakan city (Bahauddin Abad Qanat with more than eight hundred years old), Abdar qanat located in the Harisht plain (Nadog Qanat) and the specialized museum of Kariz tools and equipment has started its activity since 2016. Benefiting from the expertise and experience of qanat or kariz masters and considering the importance of historical water structures, this collection has been welcoming countless enthusiasts from all over the world and from all over our country.
Ganjineh Qanat Ardakan Tourism Complex, by defining a special route for water and qanats, for the first time, uses the countless capacities of the tourism industry in the direction of sustainability and protection of qanats, and with a comprehensive program, seeks to provide specialized travel packages centered on historical water structures.
Karizi Civilization
The existence of several thousand qanats in the desert halos, such as the Moon qanat in Ardestan (Isfahan), a qanat with an underground dam in Wazvan (Isfahan), a kariz with a 340-meter-deep wellhead in Gonabad (Khorasan), qanats around Yazd, thousands of deveel in the karizes of eastern Iran are all features of desert qanats that do not exist in other desert karizes of other countries.
In terms of qanat structures, the amazing qanats of Iran are superior to the qanat structures of the neighbors in Middle East. All the qanat masters of the region, especially the qanat masters of Yazd, are very famous and solve the complex problems of the qanats expertly, and they are deeply aware of the techniques and secrets of qanat’s maintenance, and they are unrivaled experts. More
